We also manufacture a range of upgrade products for converting machinery including drive and control systems, differential rewind shafts, core alignemnt, web guiding, tension control systems, knife positioning systems andshaft-less unwinds. These systems a used on center wind slitting machines, centre surface slitter rewinders, two drum winders and surface winders used in the paper, plastics and foil industries. Our high performance X9 slitter rewinder has superb tension contyrol using the Total Tension Control System with closed loop control. With the ability to produce perfect rolls at 700m/min, the X9 leads with high performance and high productivity built in. Automatic knife positioning and automatic core psoitisioning are avaiable plus other productiviity systems that dramatically reduce changeover times and ensure that every roll produced is made to the same winding conditions. To complement the X9, Universal developed the low cost X7 machine. Although low cost, the X7 has a range of options to allow some of the features that are on the X9 to be added. Universal have also developed a range of hot melt adhesive coating and laminating machines. These machines are avaialble in widths from 100mm to over 4000mm. We incorporate the latest hot melt coating technology to give coat weight from 0.5 gsm up to 1000 gsm. The hot melt coating and laminating machines use the sophisticated web handling and tension control system used in the manufacture of its slitting machines. Universal also produce turret rewind systems for continuous operation of slitting, coating and laminating operations.</p>
