Founded in 1996 by Ms Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai, Tay Son began as a small family business with only 20 employees to serve the niche domestic market.<br/>As Vietnam opened up to the world, Mrs Mai saw the opportunities for expansion. Tay Son could target the huge potential market of foreigners visiting Vietnam. Tay Son business strategy underwent a major change, from the domestic market to the international arena, via export and e-retial.<br/>Manufacturing capacity was increased from 200 m2 with 15 artists to 1,000 m2 with 50 artists, in order to meet elevated international demand.
