John and Jeremy Taylor established the Multay International Group of Companies in the UK in 1989. Born from humble beginnings in an outbuilding in Scaynes Hill in West Sussex the company began manufacturing furniture to sell to retailers in the UK. As the recession hit the UK during 1990 the company searched for new outlets for its products and discovered the reproduction furniture it sold had a "high perceived value" which was of interest to auctioneers in the UK. The auction house-selling route blossomed. Production had to be moved to Indonesia to keep up with over 200 auction house accounts in the UK and northern Europe. Our subsidiary company PT Multay International Indonesia set up in 1991 was one of the first foreign owned subsidiaries companies in Indonesia. Customers eager to buy from a reputable source purchase full container loads directly from our factory in Demak, Indonesia. Today satisfied customers from around the globe use our direct container program to increase their margins and miss out the dreaded middleman. Multay now supply fine hand made furniture to wholesalers and retailers around the globe.
