Masserini srl was established in 1959 by Mr. Carlo Masserini. He was a distributor of gilding materials and genuine gold leaf and already produced by himself the bole ( poliment ) and other gilding specialties useful to achieve a perfect traditional gilding. His wide knowledge and experience in the field made him an authority among the skilful gilders who referred to him for help when a technical problem had to be solved.
<br/>The next step for him was to establish a goldbeater plant and that was made by him in 1974: in this year he opened his workshop and began to beat metal leaf: not only imitation gold leaf but also aluminum, pure copper and pure silver leaf.
<br/>After him, his daughter , son-in-law and grandchildren have been continuing the goldbeating tradition but they also thought that to achieve a perfect gilding, it is not enough to get the best gold leaf, it is necessary that all the gilding accessories are up to high quality standards.
<br/>That is why they took Carlo recipes for making bole, size, patinas and so on and study and created new formulation of these products.
<br/>Now the company is proud to be able to supply the leaf, the bole, the size, the varnish to the most competent restorers, skilful craftsmen, picture frame and furniture manufacturers spread all over the world.
