Burke Surfboards was founded by Paul Burke, in Long Beach, California. Paul was an aspiring upstart surfer and aspiring PRO surfer who made his way to the North Shore of Ohau, in the early 1980's and then on to Australia, where he competed on the ASP surfing tour. Along the way shaping boards for many of the traveling surfers and locals. In mid 1980 helped design and develop the Quad 4-fin surfboard design, sponsored Brad Gerlach and helped Brad with quiver of boards as he hit the North Shore, Brad seen in a full spread in Surfing magazine on his 7'10" Burke diamond tail gun. Moved manufacturing operation to Huntington Beach, presently in Oceanside, Ca.. Presently developing closed cell air blown, h20 based polyurathane surfboard blanks and building ESP surfboard and SUP blanks for the manufacturing industry. Continued reserch and development: surfing and traveling for surf for extended periods of time.
