I surface mine rough ammonite then cut and stabilize by a patent method which hardens the ammolite so that the gem material does not scale off when shaping and polishing. I work only with high quality ammolite that has good color. I also import rough turquoise from the United States that I also cut and polish. I have a number of sizes and shapes of both ammolite and turquoise. I received lapidary and jewelry training from a well known Pueblo silversmith and Lapidarist Cawin-Jimmy Calabaza from Santo Domingo, New Mexico. I also received training from Hazeltine School of Fine Jewelry at Santa Fe, New Mexico. Ammolite has a rich history with the Blackfoot people of Southern Alberta and Montana. It symbolizes commitment and is also used for spiritual purposes. I am able to supply ammolite and turquoise cabachons.
