Created on June 8th, 1960, before the Independence of Gabon, the Gabonese Bank of Development is a Company of National interest (Limited company with Board of directors) which took over the activities of the Gabonese Company of Credit (Crdigabon) made up on July 1st, 1956, following the bursting of the Credit of French Equatorial Africa, itself created in 1948. At the time of its constitution in 1960, the capital of the BGD rose to 400 million FCFA. Following various subscriptions, the paid-up capital reached today 25.200 billion FCFA. The Gabonese Bank of Development has the role of bringing its financial assistance or technical, with the realization of any project likely to promote the economic development and social of Gabon.
