Devon Duck tours operates within 66 square miles of an area of outstanding natural beauty and within Britain&＃39;s first UNESCO Biosphere.We operate using a custom built amphibious DUKW from Instow beach.From Instow we take a trip along the river Taw towards Crow Point on the edge of both Braunton Burrows and Saunton Sands then on toward Yelland. During your journey you will get information on either the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Biosphere or the important part the area played in the build up to D-Day during World War Two. Finally we turn back to Instow for a beach landing.The round tour lasts about forty five minutes and we have two on board videos if you wish to see them. We alternate the videos so that we either show 428 of the flowering plants to be found locally or a video which shows the areas part while it hosted American forces practicing for the Welcome to Devon Duck ToursD-Day assault during the Second world war. The area is still used to practice beach landings to this day by the Royal Marines who are based locally. The video of the America forces shows them practicing on Braunton Burrows along with with music and archive radio broadcasts from the time.
