Expanded Metal exhibits a high weight to strength ratio, and is often used to protect people or machines by stopping a specific size material from entering a specific area. Flattened expanded metal is the same product as Standard Expanded Metal, but has been cold rolled by a flattening machine to give it a smooth flat surface.
