The beginning: ALJ was founded in 1945 by Mr. Abdul Latif Jameel, starting with the automotive business and succeeding to be the sole distributor for Toyota in KSA. In 1969 ALJ diversified and expanded in different sectors; real estate, general trading activities and consumer finance, anticipating the change in customer demand, however the automotive sector remained the backbone of the company. In 1979 UIS (United Installment Sales) was established. In 1980, the group was recognized focusing on the core services (Automobiles and consumer financing), and since then Abdul Latif Jameel Co. Ltd the lead management was established .The company has expanded in KSA and internationally, becoming the largest independent distributor in the world today. The astute management, solid organization, placing consumer first as the defining policy all enabled ALJ reaching and maintaining the current reputation.
